The Healing Energy of Nature

Spring has arrived and although it still may be cold where you are the flowers and trees are doing their best to welcome the season. At least that is what is happening for using New England.

Yellow Daffodil’s are blooming in the gardens. The flowers are peeking up from the frozen ground and have become noticeable along the hilly country roads of Connecticut. The trees are budding red and pink, the grass is becoming green and the kids are itching to get outside. Going outside is the best way to get grounded after a busy day. Natures energy is not only healing but rejuvenating to the soul. . There are many ways to connect as the weather warms such as hiking, biking ,swimming, running, tennis, socker, baseball, the list is endless. One of my favorite outdoor sports is to throw a frisbee. Croquette and badminton are such fun summer activities that your family and friends can all participate in and enjoy. We often get stuck behind our computer or on the couch in front of the TV and we have to make a conscious effort, myself included to get out and enjoy the world. Gardening is the best way I know to get outside enjoy the harvest of our work. Planting herbs to accent the meals and of course fresh tomatoes with fresh lettuce makes all the difference when preparing a summer salad. Even a small garden can enhance your meals with fresh cucumbers, squash and sweet basil. Mint is another one of my favorites to grow and it’s easy to grow and makes a cup of hot tea or a pitcher of ice teas special. If you enjoy an evening cocktail hour mojitos are refreshing and delicious!

Many blessing to you and yours on this Spring day on Palm Sunday April 13th
